Press ReleaseRelease Date: September 30, 2008 Dr. Amy Madden joining Belgrade Regional Health Center
Her previous experiences with medical care include working on projects addressing HIV/AIDS with the Peace Corps in Central African Republic and Malawi, as well as working in a sexual assault crisis center in Maine. Dr. Madden recently shared her reasons for choosing to practice at the health center: "I am happy to have the opportunity to serve my local community. The HealthReach mission of providing access to quality medical care in areas that might otherwise be in need is closely aligned with why I chose medicine as a career." Dr. Madden's clinical areas of interest include preventive care for the entire family, management of chronic illness, and community health. Dr. Madden joins Dr. Diane Campbell, Dr. Julie Hurley, and nurse practitioner, Vickie Chapman, who provide medical care to 2,500 residents and visitors from the Belgrade region and surrounding communities each year. Belgrade Regional Health Center is one of the eleven practices of HealthReach Community Health Centers, a system of eleven federally qualified health centers in central and western Maine. Dedicated providers deliver first-class healthcare to citizens in over 80 rural communities. To ensure access for everyone, HealthReach accepts Medicare, MaineCare, major insurances and offers an Affordable Care Program based on family size and income to uninsured and underinsured residents. A private, non-profit organization with a 30-year history, HealthReach is funded by patient fees, grants and individual donations. |
